Continuum, documentation of urban performance, video, 6', loop (2008)_excerpt / photo c-print, variable dimension
Continuum is an urban performance, a dance - or maybe a representation of a Promenade architecturale in looping, wherein the artist-subject-passenger is fully immersed - is the beginning of an unusual urban panism. These uncontrollable surfaces do not contain the drive towards becoming a creative form. Humans are both the protagonists and the victims of a virtuoso performance that unleashes energies and dazzling reflections, while unexpressed forces emerge. The insulating material of the iridescent wrapping is the shining gold of an anthropologicalstatus symbol, which manifests itself in its liberating rituals. All around the city, an unintentional film set, forced to serve as a mere background, powerless in its interaction with the movement. The mobile architectures of Continuum, almost like sculptures reminiscent of a Futurist dynamism, represent transformations that are temporary, ephemeral, and yet so precious in their spontaneous, organic vitality.
